With holiday homes and properties abroad, the missing project file is the norm, not the exception: the installer was a local firm, communication ran through third parties, and no one ever handed over a file. For the reconstruction this makes no difference — the bus answers the same in every country.
The system was built locally, often without consistent documentation and without anyone ever demanding the project file. After handover, the trail goes cold.

We read out the device inventory, group addresses and, where possible, the parameterisation, and assess the topology and condition of the system. This happens regardless of the language the system was once labelled in.
