People & Organisation ManagerSets up HR and organisation across both companies: brings people, processes and knowledge together and makes culture tangible in everyday work — our feel-good manager on the side.
Design needs minds, delivery needs hands — with us both come from the same house: smartfabrik plans and programmes, elektrofabrik installs. Here is the team that will carry your project.
The person across the table in your first conversation: Sebastian Strickling translates the way people live into functional concepts — from the first appointment through product selection to deciding what your home should actually be able to do. He is responsible for consultancy, sales and the partnerships with architects and interior studios.
LinkedIn profile →The technical lead: Sebastian Gehmlich is responsible for engineering standards, KNX architecture and the quality of every design — from bus topology to the fully documented control cabinet. Projects delivered under his direction range from a Cologne manor house to a 1,200 m² villa in Riyadh.

Translates concepts into engineering: KNX topologies, room data sheets and distribution board schedules that any site can work cleanly from.
A master electrician with real KNX depth — responsible for the quality of the work from installation through testing to acceptance.
A master electrician with an eye for detail: tests, measures and only hands a system over when it is genuinely finished.
Configures in ETS what was designed: scenes, logic and visualisations, until the house feels right.
Programmes and systematically tests KNX functions — every button, every sensor, every scene.
Responsible for bookkeeping and administrative processes — so that everything runs smoothly behind the scenes.
Looks after product selection and client communication: you always know where your project stands.
Leads the marketing team and drives the reach and visibility of the smartfabrik brand.
Responsible for campaign management and performance marketing — making smartfabrik visible to the outside world.
Gives smartfabrik its look and voice: design, social media and podcast — from the idea to the finished piece.
Develops digital tools and interfaces around projects and visualisation.
Runs the elektrofabrik sites: crew, materials and scheduling across several projects at once — and makes sure material orders match the state of the build rather than the catalogue.
Supports operations management in day-to-day business — from coordination to organisation.
Supports operations management in day-to-day business — from coordination to organisation.
Runs projects on site from shell stage to handover: briefing the installers, checking against the construction drawings, documenting progress, and the acceptance at which every function is switched through once.
Runs sites where several trades work at once: coordination with drylining, heating and fit-out so that conduits, back boxes and outlets sit where the design puts them — and so that deviations are noticed while they are still cheap to correct.
Installs smart home technology the way it was designed: cleanly and to last.
Electrical installation from the distribution board to the last back box — including the cable routes for KNX, DALI and the network that nobody wants to open up later.
Builds distribution boards and installations to the drawings: conductors run, terminals labelled, test results documented. The work nobody sees in the finished house — unless it was done badly.
Our next generation — trained on genuine premium projects.
Learning the trade from the ground up in the elektrofabrik team.
From the first conversation to handover you work with the same named people — no helpline, no changes.
Request a consultation →With us design and installation sit in two companies but in one house. What one draws, the other builds — and both are at the table on the same project.
What comes of it you can see in our projects. What the route there looks like is set out under smart home design; the work in ETS we describe under KNX programming, and distribution board construction under control cabinet construction. Systems without a project file we take on through KNX reconstruction.
